FTA-bashing | 13.04.05
Letter writer Prem Narula asks (second from top) in the Bangkok Post’s Postbag:
This clearly shows that Thailand was better off with a surplus last year _ without these trade deals _ and the cheap Chinese imports of fruit, vegetables and roses for Valentine’s Day, for example, are already affecting our farmers. So what exactly are we gaining from this deal?
How about cheap Chinese fruits, vegetables, and roses?
P.S. Prem and his fellow FTA bashers have the Neanderthals on their side! With luck, they’ll go the same way.

Just wanted to send you a Songkarn greeting. Sawasdee Pee Mai!

Thanks, Zato. Same to you.
Strangely enough, I do mostly stay dry during Songkran. My having been abroad was probably part of it. But only a part.
