Recent comments page | 30.11.05

There’s been a problem with this site’s commenting system. When a new comment is posted, only I get it mailed me. For readers of the main log, it shows up only as an increase in the comment count, which is not likely to be seen, let alone noticed, except for the very latest posts. That is the reason most of you have probably missed JW’s good linguistic questions on this thread and my answers to them. Less good are Sydney’s question about my credentials to speak on FTA matters (in Thai) and Piyabutr’s open letter to the Democrats, but I’ve replied to them as well. There are a few more obscure comments, but I’ll keep them to myself for now…

See the problem? I value my readers too much to be the gatekeeper of comments and conversations like that. Thanks to this newly devised recent comments page, you can now view the ten most recent comments regardless of where they’re posted. This slightly forum-like flavor should please some of my more active readers. Of course, with power comes responsibility. Readers should feel more encouraged now to post comments on appropriate threads.

Thus informed, you may now proceed to read Post Staffer’s blog with in a blog about Sondhi Limthongkul’s literally bankrupt past.

Big improvement, thank you Tom. As you say, people who come late to a thread can get overlooked, through no fault of their own.

Your response to Piyabutr was well crafted.

Reading you in Thai…I don’t see that often. I enjoyed it.

I agree that the “recent comments page” is a good idea. When searching in google for certain people, this site comes up very high up on the list.

I am not surprised that some people are just finding older posts now.
